Ψ也是Psychology的符號，代表心靈

"「薛丁格方程式」出自哪裡？它無法從任何已知的事物中推導出來。它出自薛丁格的心靈。"

這句話出自 Richard Feynman《The Feynman Lectures on Physics》（費曼物理學講義）第 III 卷（量子力學）第 16 章〈The Dependence of Amplitudes on Position〉，在他寫出自由粒子情況的方程（接著導向薛丁格方程）時，原文就講：

“Where did we get that from? Nowhere. It’s not possible to derive it from anything you know. It came out of the mind of Schrödinger …”高涌泉老師將It came out of the mind of Schrödinger翻譯成它來自薛丁格的腦子，這比較符合科學語感。

翻譯成來自心靈的話，由於薛丁格有研究東方如印度吠陀哲學，我會不小心聯想到那邊去，尤其Ψ也代表心靈，又費曼這句 It came out of the mind of Schrödinger ，mind 用梵語去對應不是「manas」而是「buddhi」也就是「慧解」。

話說，薛丁格是在1926年和秘密情人在瑞士阿爾卑斯山度假時，完成薛丁格方程式，在梨具吠陀的《無・有歌》中「manas」就來自於「慾(Kāma)」而產生，密教即云「愛染即菩提」。
